Acute kidney injury in patient with djenkolism: a case report

Background: Djenkolic poisoning or djenkolism is one of the causes acute kidney failure common in Southeast Asia. Djenkol bean jering (Archidendron pauciflorum) foods commonly found These seed plants are usually processed by boiling frying, but often they also consumed raw. Djenkolism sometimes occurs, albeit infrequently after ingesting djenkol beans. The clinical presentation varied generally presents as a spasmodic loin to groin pain and injury (AKI), with evidence urinary obstruction.Case description: We report previously healthy 40-year-old male developed AKI consuming large amount uncooked beans, which was resolved rehydration normal saline conservative therapy.Conclusion: highlight importance healthcare practitioners, especially Asian region consider this rare cause provide early diagnosis prompt treatments.
